St. Kevin’s made it two wins on the bounce as they move up the league table to sixth position thanks to a two-point win over visitors Kilkerly Emmets.
Team list: Danny Crosbie, Dylan Maher, Finbarr Lynch, Eoin McKenna, Shane Meade(0-1), Cameron Maher, Darren McMullan, Evan Maher(0-1), Conor Rogers, Karl Martin (0-2), Lee Crosbie (1-6), Keelan Maher, Patrick Clarke(0-2), Paul Duff(0-2), Tom Matthews. Brian Callaghan for Conor Rogers.
In a tight first half, Kilkerly took their only lead 25 minutes in with an unfortunate goal, however, Lee Crosbie was quick to rectify the scoreboard with a goal of his own just below the first whistle, resulting in a halftime score of 1-7 to 1-4.
This game saw the welcome return of captain Patrick Clarke from injury, scoring two points, and Brian Callaghan returned to midfield after his head injury in Round 5 of the league. The visitors rallied at the start of the second half scoring four points to level 9 minutes in. However, a purple patch from Paul Duff, Patrick Clarke and Lee Crosbie ensured enough of a gap in the scoreline to ensure success for Thomas McNamee’s men.
Notable mentions must go to Karl Martin and recent return goalkeeper Danny Crosbie for tremendous performances.
The team will go on to play St. Joseph’s on the 29th of May at 3:00pm away in Cluskey Park.
