Our U14 Black Camogie team travelled to neighbouring club Mattock Rangers yesterday evening where they came away with a great win. Mattock took the lead in the first minute with a point, however the Kevin’s girls were quick to set the record and level 1 minute later from Mia Brennan. From then on the girls set the pace and never really looked back from that point.

Full forward Hollie McArdle Lynch honed in on the back of the net every opportunity given to her and capitalised on some brilliant inter team work particularly from her foward counter part Madeleine Grogan to score 3 goals throughout. Both girls worked like a well oiled machine to the dismay of their opponents.

Mia Brennan, Grace and Ada King were punishing forces in the midfield, and all three seemed determined to never let their marks have a free strike of the ball. Caoimhe Brennan serving multiple roles throughout showcased some excellent puck outs throughout the whole game and fantastic long clearances from the midfield.

In the second half, the Kevin’s girls continued to enjoy good possession but were unable to convert this into scores, however spectators were treated to some brilliant displays of skill and contention particularly from the defending lines consisting of Kaela Dunne, Lily Johnson, and Aisling Gormally. Having racked up a significant lead in the scoreboard during the first half with a 2 goal lead. This left the pressure off the girls to fit in some crucial experience for some high catching and slick passing to which they took full advantage. Emily Byrne was crucial in ensuring that Mattock Rangers were unable to convert their scoring chances with some excellent blocks and the girls finished out with a 4 goal lead at the final whistle.

Team List: Mia Brennan (0-2), Emily Byrne, Kaela Dunne, Caoimhe Brennan, Aisling Gormally, Megan Goss, Madeleine Grogan, Grace King (2-0), Emma Murphy (1-0), Iasult O’Donnell, Meadhbh O’Donnell, Hollie McArdle Lynch (3-0), Florence Grogan, Lily Johnson, Ada King, Holly Murray.
